About Me

My name is Audrey Burke McCarthy. I am a Leadership and Executive Coach.

I have over 25 years plus experience in roles that include international marketing, senior management, performance management, coaching, and general management.

I work across multiple sectors and industries face to face and virtually. My client portfolio is diverse and includes start-ups to multinationals, semi-state and private organisations, and everything in between. The common denominator is working with the person – enabling my clients to fulfil their potential.

I put you, my client, at the centre of everything I do. I leverage my qualifications, knowledge and experience to help you go from good to great.

My Coaching Approach

For me, coaching is a positive catalyst for clients to get energised about their life passion and to instill perseverance to make it happen. I have always believed people should go for their dreams and yet I fully appreciate many people don’t know where to start or get stuck in a rut. I help people positively explore their core purpose and make sustainable changes that allow them to fulfill their potential.

My coaching approach is based on a collaborative partnership with the client. I take a positive solutions-oriented approach to achieve success and address any limiting self-beliefs. I work with clients to create the change destination, develop the emotional courage to navigate their journey and implement the required interventions and strategies.

Emotional courage is the willingness to feel the hard feelings that come when we take risks, break old patterns, and try new ways of acting.  Change can be a requirement at the individual level, team level and/or at the sector itself. It can be positive, opportunistic, challenging, necessity or compulsory.

I work with individuals and teams in three coaching areas – leadership coaching, executive coaching, and business coaching.

Examples of my clients’ coaching journeys include:

  • Transitioning to a new role
  • Meeting new regulatory requirements
  • Change in business direction, culture creation
  • New teams or new ways of teamwork
  • Employee engagement
  • Professional rebranding

I support individuals and teams to overcome uncertainty and feelings of “being stuck”. Together we find ways to boost their courage and mojo by creating a strong sense of purpose for the way forward. My coaching style blends a pragmatic collaborative results-oriented approach that taps into my clients ‘strengths and motivational drivers for positive outcomes.

My Coaching Process

Every coaching journey is unique, but they tend to share the following steps:

We have an initial complimentary telephone call (what we call in the coaching world – a chemistry call) to find out what you would like to achieve and to see if I am the best person to help you achieve your goals in terms of background, experience and coaching style.

The next step in the process is to formalise the coaching contract and set out the goals, roles, sessions, and timeframes. It is the reference point in the coaching partnership enabling us to check if they are on track. The length of the coaching timeline can vary but it is normally recommended to have monthly meetings over a six-month period.

At this stage, we will also discuss how coaching works and will review the Code of Ethics. It is also important at this stage to discuss our roles and the approach to be taken, getting a shared consensus on the expectations of the work ahead as well as desired outcomes, mutual responsibilities regarding commitment, openness, and honesty.

Coaching is first and foremost about you. You are at the centre of the coaching partnership and are fully in the driving seat. My role is to create a safe environment where trust and confidentiality come first. This is the foundation of our coaching relationship and sessions. I am here to help you to explore possibilities and opportunities, help you to gain the courage to move forward and achieve your goals and ambitions.

We will keep in contact in between sessions by phone, email or Zoom. I am here to help. We also will build in a review session to check on progress halfway through our sessions.
